In a city known for its talent on the water, another water skier with a Cambridge connection is getting ready to compete at an international event.

Wendy Durigon will be skiing in the 45+ slalom event at the upcoming IWWF 35+ Pan American Water Ski Championships in Harmony, North Carolina.

Waterskiing has become a family affair for three Conestogo siblings. Hannah, Jacob and Ethan Kuntz all competed at the 2023 Canadian Water Ski Championships at Shalom Park in Edmonton on August 9-12.

Wendy Durigon will be skiing in the 45+ slalom event at the upcoming IWWF 35+ Pan American Water Ski Championships in Harmony, North Carolina.

Hannah Stopnicki of Dollard-Des-Ormeaux is presently in Lago Los Morros in San Bernardo, Chile where she is representing Canada at the 2018 IWWF Pan American Water Ski Championships. A three-event competitive water-skier, Stopnicki, who is 12 and normally would compete in the U14 division, will up the challenge and take on the best U17 skiers in the world.

The 2018 Canadian Water Ski Championships are running until Sunday at Puslinch Lake.

The culmination of the championships is Sunday's open event, which will feature Cambridge natives and national team members Jason and Whitney McClintock.

This summer McClintock’s Water Ski School on Puslinch Lake along with Water Ski Wakeboard Ontario (WSWO) will be hosting the 2018 Canadian Water Ski National Championships, August 8-12, 2018.

The Canadian water-ski team took home two gold and four silver medals on the final day of water-skiing at the Pan American Games.

After claiming gold in the overall competition on Wednesday, Whitney McClintock led the way with a gold and two silvers.

When water skier Jason McClintock starts a slalom course, he knows he's going to fail somewhere along the way before he gets out of the water.

It doesn't matter if it's on the perfect, warm, glassy lakes of Florida where he trains or chilly, wind-whipped Spray Lake outside Newmarket, where he and sister Whitney will compete in this weekend's Canadian water ski championships.
