2019 ontario water ski team criteria

Water Ski Wakeboard Ontario is pleased to announce the criteria for the 2019 Ontario Water Ski Teams. Below you will find information on different Team Levels and the Team Selection Process. It is our hope that we will continue to give our competitive water skiers an opportunity to push themselves further, with hopes of one day competing on the Junior, U21 and Elite Canadian National Water Ski Teams.

As part of a training plan for the Ontario Water Ski Teams, formal training camps have been set up and will be regulated by the current Ontario Provincial Team Coach (PTC), Jason McClintock, in order to provide continual professional training to our athletes and help them achieve their own personal goals within our sport. Athletes are not required to attend these camps, but are encouraged to seek out quality training from an NCCP Competitive Certified Water Ski Instructor if they are unable to attend.

How does training funding work?

Due to ever-changing provincial grants and fundraising opportunities, each seasons funding may vary. We aim to do our best as an organization to maintain these funding levels and increase funding opportunities. Finalized funding information will be sent out to all successful applicants prior to accepting a named position on the 2019 Ontario Water Ski Team once we can assess team size and demand. all funding will go towards tournament reimbursement for entry fees.

As our team continues to grow, and needs spread throughout Ontario, funding for 2019 will be different than prior years, focusing solely on WSWO sanctioned tournament reimbursement.

Tournament funding will be void if you do not attend at least 3 tournaments in 2019, including Ontario’s, Eastern’s, and National’s. No exceptions will be granted to the above-mentioned tournaments, unless competing for canada at a conflicting . All funding is at the discretion of WSWO and the PTC and will be reimbursed upon proof of athlete’s participation at the end of the season.
